I’m Amanda Prince, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Westlake Village.
With a diverse professional background spanning digital product and management consultancies, investment management, and government social services, I bring a grounded, real-world perspective to therapy. Having navigated corporate politics, complex organizational communication, acquisitions, and change management firsthand - alongside rich and varied personal life experiences - I offer an empathetic approach built for real life. This unique background helps me connect with clients authentically and offer practical, compassionate support tailored to each person’s situation and needs.
I work eclectically, drawing on evidence-based modalities including CBT, ACT, DBT, EFT, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and motivational interviewing. I also integrate existentialism, depth psychology, and psychodynamic theory to deepen my understanding of each person I work with.
Okay, but what does all that clinical jargon mean, right?
It means I work with you to examine your thinking and beliefs about yourself, your values, and the exact things that push your buttons. Together, we look at how you react when you’re overwhelmed, how you communicate, and how you set boundaries (or don't).
We talk about real tactics for managing heavy emotions and communicating effectively. We get to the heart of what is true for you - and look at whether or not your daily life actually aligns with that truth. We face the big questions together:
- What brings genuine meaning to your life?
- Who are you at this stage of your journey?
- Are you living your own life, or the one someone else expects you to live?
Out of all that examination, questioning, and skill-building, a new way of living begins to emerge.
When I'm not in session with clients, or providing corporate training, I serve as the Membership Chair for the Ventura County chapter of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. I'm in training to take my expertise to the next level by becoming an ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider. I also offer consultation to other therapists.
Beyond my professional life, I love living in beautiful Ventura County and I enjoy spending time with my husband and our dogs in nature.
